last night, spin hosted a fabulous ping pong tournament at le bain at the standard

a perfect summer night to ease the return to reality after vacation…not too shabby.

kate-tito:

lots of new places this trip - a little lyon, a little roanne, then a nice long week in paris.

i saw very sweet babar exhibit at les arts décoratifs (because i am 5, apparently).

finally went to nanashi, after hearing about it for ages! worth the hype.

and ducked into merce and the muse during one of the flash rainstorms this weekend.

and of course, frenchtrotters… #totesamaze

but for now, back to new yolk shitty. (just kidding, i apple ny)

whenever i am about to leave new york, i get so attached to it here.

searching for a new perfume is a weird walk through a memory library.

i went on my perfume hunt a while back and smelled everything whose scents i couldn’t remember or had never smelled before.

“l’eau froide” was crisp and new and unfamiliar - i couldn’t commit. “l’été douce” and “mûre et musc” remind me of something imagined - familiar but unrealized. “fou d’absynthe” and “premier figuier” as well.

i came back to “philosykos” - familiar and reminiscent of my best memories. almost like a favorite worn in t-shirt, but better :)

keeping things peppy for friday after a very long week :)

normally my feelings towards theory are neither here nor there, but their new lookbook is simply spot on.

as someone who greatly dislikes a) being photographed b) being yelled at c) crowds, the red carpet is my idea of hell. the thought of being yelled at whilst photographed in a crowd gives me anxiety that turns my complexion the color of the carpet itself. good thing i’m not famous!

n that note, the met gala was last night. did you watch vogue.com’s live stream? i sure did, and it was hilarious.

they certainly did not have a sound censor and some of the things the paparazzi said were PRICELESS. my favorite one-liners included:

  • “this is a nightmare”
  • “please get out of the background with that portable camera!!”
  • “kristin look at that camera! she’s looking at nothing.”
  • “can you text somewhere else? is that possible? i mean really.”

beyond any dress, this loudmouth was absolutely the best part. not that the gowns weren’t great or anything! (especially caroline trentini’s denim gown. denim. DENIM.) but. i mean…

last monday started the week off in the lovliest of ways: a bit of champagne and macarons! mmmondays :)
